CenterPoint Energy and United Way of Greater Houston have joined forces to provide the CenterPoint Energy Emerging Leaders Institute, a program for mid-level managers in Houston’s nonprofit sector. The goal is to address the significant void of diverse and emerging leaders and to develop the next generation of leaders who represent Houston’s ethnically diverse community.

Monthly Session topics include:

  • Understanding and Leading Self
  • Building and Leading Strong Teams
  • Adaptive Leadership
  • Philanthropy and Community Engagement
  • Developing and Influencing Others

We know that there are many strong candidates currently working in area nonprofit organizations who would benefit from this opportunity. This program is specifically for mid-level managers who have been in their position with their organization for at least one year. This program is not appropriate for senior level or founding CEO/ED roles. Candidates should be employed with a nonprofit organization in the health and human service sector within Harris, Fort Bend, Waller, or Montgomery County and aspire to future executive leadership opportunities. The Institute includes opening and closing sessions presented by the Texas A&M Mays School of Business; course work is presented by Nonprofit Connection staff and guest instructors.

There is no cost to candidates selected for the program. Watch for more information about the Fall cohort.

United Way Nonprofit Connection is privileged to support CenterPoint Energy’s commitment to building our nonprofit leadership base and reinforcing the infrastructure of our nonprofit sector.
