Women's Initiative and Young Leaders:
Career Planning Through the Ages
Our Women’s Initiative and Young Leaders members
received great insights from c-suite veteran and
author Pattie Dale Tye during our Career Planning
Throughout the Ages event at The Ion on March 28th!
Pattie talked about the significance of generosity in
leadership as well as in other areas of life. She also
told us about her career journey and discussed more
about her book, “Ordinary to Extra-Ordinary.” A huge
thank you to our donors for joining us at this event.
We hope you enjoyed Pattie’s speech, which reiterates
the importance of generosity and helping our
neighbors! Learn more about Pattie at

Women’s Initiative ADT trip to Asheville, NC
In mid-May, twenty amazing ADT members of the Women's Initiative traveled to beautiful Asheville, NC for a few days of fun,
fellowship, and service. One of the highlights was a morning of volunteering with Hearts with Hands, a disaster-relief organization
that supports Asheville with Hurricane Helene recovery but also supports disaster relief efforts across the country and
internationally. Our WI members spent a productive morning sorting donations and assembling toiletry kits.
It will take many years for Asheville to recover from the devastation of Hurricane Helene and we were pleased to do our small part to
support them. In addition to our service activity, we supported the local economy by touring the Biltmore estate, enjoying several
delicious meals, and checking out local shops and galleries.
Huge thanks to our trip organizing committee: Cassandra McZeal, Paige Martin, Decie Autin, Ann Deaton, Lauren Ivers, Dr. Angel Harris,
and Amanda McMillian.
Annual self-funded trips like this are one of the perks of being an Alexis de Tocqueville Society member and are a fantastic way to
forge long-lasting friendships. We'd love to have you join us at the next one!

Women’s Initiative End of Year Final Celebration
It was an amazing final celebration for our United Way
Women’s Initiative, graciously hosted by
ConocoPhillips. The evening was filled with pride and
purpose as we celebrated reaching 1,000 members and
collectively raising over $6 million for United Way
this year.
We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to
our incredible co-chairs, Jeanne Abundis and Sara
Hallam, for their inspiring leadership and for growing
this powerful network of changemakers. We also extend
our gratitude to Felicia Wilkerson from
ConocoPhillips, whose dedication and hard work made
this celebration possible. Additionally, we marked the
traditional passing of the co-chair baton, with Jeanne
handing over the role to Teal Holden, who will join
Sara in leading us into the 2025–26 year. We’re
excited about what’s ahead for the Women’s Initiative!

Together, We Turned Possibility Into Progress
We’re proud to share that the 2024–25 United Way
campaign closed with remarkable success. Thanks to the
collective efforts of our entire community —including
the Women’s Initiative — more than $74 million was
raised, with over $56.8 million coming from the annual
campaign. In times of crisis, your compassion shone
even brighter, contributing more than $9.3 million for
Hurricane Beryl and Derecho windstorm relief.
Altogether, we raised over $83.4 million to uplift
lives across our region. With every dollar, every
hour, and every voice, you are helping us make bold
strides toward our 8-year goal of raising $581
million. Thank you for being part of this powerful
movement. The future is brighter because of you.
