Those interested in joining Project Blueprint Class XXIX must apply by Tuesday, December 15, 2009. The program will begin on March 4, 2010. Project Blueprint will host information sessions on Thursday, November 12, and Thursday, December 10, at the United Way Center. Emerging leaders of ethnic communities are encouraged to come learn how they can help ensure a diverse, well-prepared representation of volunteer leaders in our nonprofit community. Applicants are chosen based on their professional experience, community involvement and leadership potential. Participants attend a 10-week program that addresses all aspects on nonprofit governance, from strategic planning and communication to legal issues and fundraising. Project Blueprint ensures that graduates are prepared to assist nonprofit organizations in improving performance and increasing their impact in the community. Following graduation, Project Blueprint alumni are eligible for volunteer placement opportunities with United Way and other area nonprofits. United Way of Greater Houston’s Project Blueprint is a leadership development program committed to increasing diverse leadership in the nonprofit sector. Since 1988, Project Blueprint has prepared the next generation of leaders from Houston’s ethnic communities to fill key roles on boards and board committees in Houston’s nonprofit agencies.
