Volunteer at 2009 H-E-B Feast of Sharing
As the holiday season approaches, many of you will be looking for a way to share your time and talents with the less fortunate in our community. The 2009 H-E-B Feast of Sharing is a perfect opportunity to give back.

United Way of Greater Houston is partnering with H-E-B again this year to feed more than 10,000 people in our community. Spread the word among your friends, family and coworkers, and help us recruit the 1,000 volunteers needed to make this event a success.

2009 H-E-B Feast of Sharing
Sunday, December 13, 2008
1:00 - 4:00 p.m.
George R. Brown Convention Center

Click here to register. Simply select your volunteer role and join hundreds like you who want to do something about it for our community. All shifts are on the day of the event - December 13, 2009. Registration is limited to adults and children over the age of 14 (Volunteers under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult and will not be allowed to work in food service areas). Please keep in mind that some volunteer roles will require physical activity, like walking, serving and carrying light loads.

Volunteers can participate in a variety of roles including volunteer check-in, pie servers, greeters, drink servers, waiters, table runners/bussers, serving line, guest advocates and children's area.

What is the Feast of Sharing? It is the highlight of H-E-B's year-round effort to combat hunger. H-E-B launched this generous gift to the community in Laredo and Corpus Christi in 1989. In its 20th year, the H-E-B Feast of Sharing will serve free, hot holiday meals in 27 communities across Texas and Mexico. The event features a seated dinner, entertainment, health fair, children's area, pictures with Santa Claus and much more.

Last year, H-E-B was able to serve more than 6,000 meals with the help of over 800 dedicated volunteers, like you. We hope you will join us again this year to make the holidays brighter for people in the Greater Houston area.
