 Looking for the latest information on the H1N1 Flu? Need help finding a clinic? Call the 2-1-1 Texas/United Way HELPLINE. More than half a million people did in 2008—and found assistance, resources and someone to listen. Now, by dialing 2-1-1, callers can get the most up-to-date information about the H1N1 flu, commonly called the Swine Flu. 2-1-1 Texas/United Way HELPLINE has the latest information on vaccination sites and school closures. Trained call specialists also can provide general H1N1 information, precautions and advice, as well as clinic referrals. Can’t afford a prescription for antiviral medications like Tamiflu® or Relenza®? Call specialists may be able to locate free or reduced cost medications. Help is always just a phone call away. Whether you need help finding counseling, a substance abuse treatment program, medical care or transportation to the doctor, trained call specialists can connect you with services to meet your needs—in your neighborhood. Answering an average of 2,000 calls per day, seven days a week, 2-1-1 call specialists do something about it for our community every day.
